Craig C. Martin -- Bio
Craig C. Martin was named Chairman of the Corporate Board in 2011.  Mr. Martin is a partner of Jenner & Block LLC and is Co-Chair of the firm's 375-lawyer national Litigation Department, and a member of the firm’s governing Policy Committee.  He has served on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago’s board since 1996, and is a longstanding member of the board’s executive committee.

Mr. Martin has a long history of commitment to philanthropic and civic endeavors.  He serves on the Executive Committee of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and previously served on the board of the Chicago Foundation for Education.  Mr. Martin’s career-long devotion to community service also is demonstrated by the numerous hours of pro bono legal work he performs each year.  He represents and has represented indigent clients in civil matters involving securities fraud, civil rights and political asylum and in criminal matters including capital murder cases.  For his public service efforts, Mr. Martin earlier this year was honored by the American Jewish Committee with its prestigious Judge Learned Hand Human Relations Award.

Mr. Martin’s practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation in a wide range of substantive areas of law.  He regularly counsels corporate boards, families and individuals in a variety of sensitive and complicated matters.  His clients range from Fortune 500 companies and wealthy families to civic institutions and indigent individuals.  Repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of the best business lawyers in Illinois, Mr. Martin is an active member of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Martin received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, in economics, political science and international relations.  While at Harvard, he was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.  Mr. Martin is a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago.
