Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Guild Board Raises Nearly $400,000 at The 12th Annual Lawn Ball
The Guild Board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago raised nearly $400,000 in support of local youth during its 12th annual Lawn Ball on Friday, June 17, at the prestigious Saddle & Cycle Club. The Lawn Ball kicked off on the club's gorgeous grand terrace, overlooking a vast lawn where a VIP reception was hosted by Tommy Bahama. Musical entertainment was provided by the Matt Reed Band. Later in the evening, guests sipped cocktails, mingled, placed silent auction bids on hot ticket items and took part in an exciting live auction with auctioneer Keith Jones that included experiences such as a weeklong getaway at the One&Only Ocean Club in Nassau, Bahamas, a luxury stay in Scottsdale, Arizona, and an exclusive Chicago Cubs "GM for the Day" experience with Jed Hoyer.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago’s (BGCC) Guild Board was founded in 2005 by a group of socially-conscious professionals committed to advancing the mission of BGCC through a combination of talent, advocacy, and passion. The Guild Board membership is comprised of 70 business and civic leaders who actively engage in raising awareness and funding for BGCC by hosting several fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual Lawn Ball, which has raised over $3 million since it began in 2004.
Wild Floral Designs provided the seated candlelit dinner décor. Guests heard an inspirational speech and a personal success story from 2016 Chicago and Illinois Youth of the Year Winner, Eve Houser, whose life has been positively impacted by membership at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Club. The event culminated with dessert by Nothing Bundt Cakes and late night snacks on the terrace provided by Brix Catering. The presenting sponsor for the 12th annual Lawn Ball was Associated Bank.
