Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
in accounting, finance, or business administration. CPA or MBA
preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience managing the accounting functions
in a non-profit agency.
Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices and procedures of non-profit organizations. Previous super- visory, long-range planning, and grant-related experience necessary.

Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize
work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrated ability to make informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Position Responsibilities
Establishes and implements systems, policies, and procedures
for all financial management functions, ensuring appropriate controls
and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
Oversees the process for identifying and evaluating opportunities for improved financial operations, recordkeeping, and reporting.
Develops and maintains systems, policies, and procedures for financial operations.
Manages financial database and provides input to users of other databases that have financial implications..
Prepares formal reports to the President & CEO and Vice Presidents, Board of Directors, and other appropriate bodies as designated.
Coordinates development of annual agency budget; Monitors and reports variances in revenues and expenditures, cash flow, lines of credit and investments; Provides timely recommendations for actions necessary to maintain the fiscal health of the organization.
Acts as a staff liaison to the Treasurer, Finance Committee, and Investment Committee setting necessary agenda items for committee approval.
Attends meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors in an advisory role, as requested.
Participates in long-range planning for the organization.
Ensures the establishment and maintenance of accurate and timely financial records and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices, and contractual requirements. Provides input to users of other databases that have financial implications.
Supervises the preparation of financial statements and submits these to management, Board of Directors, government agencies, and other financial statement users.
Interfaces with all auditors; manages the organization wide annual audit to ensure that the audit is completed in a timely manner.
Provides analytical review of Clubs’ activities and interacts with other departments to generate improvements.
Manages non-monetary assets such as property, equipment, contracts, and rental space.
Ensures that grant expenditures are approved on a timely basis in order to expedite reimbursements.
Provides technical assistance to club boards when appropriate.
Oversees the entire payroll function including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
Assists Club Directors/Managers in understanding general ledgers, analyzing monthly financial reports, and preparing and managing budgets, as requested. Also trains staff in proper procedures regarding cash receipts and disbursements.
Provides overall supervision, leadership, direction, and coordination to the finance, building and properties, and human resources department.
Develops, implements and monitors the budgets of the finance department, and building and properties.
Selects, manages, trains, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures. Provides career development opportunities for staff.
Engages in special projects and performs other duties at the direction of the President & CEO.
Manages financial database and provide input to users of other databases that have financial implications.
