Job summary
Responsible for planning and securing unrestricted philanthropic
support from individuals, corporations and foundations through
traditional fundraising mechanisms (personal solicitation, proposals,
special events, volunteer auxiliary groups, etc.). Shared accountability
for team achievement of annual fundraising revenue goals. Identification,
cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
Four or more years experience in direct fundraising/development
preferred. Experience in sales, customer service, marketing, organization
external relations a plus.
Experience in a not-for-profit, multi-department, multi-function
organization preferred.
Skills
Well developed interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills.
Customer service / performance by objective work approach with ability to function independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Raiser’s Edge database experience preferred.
Knowledge of Chicago’s philanthropic community preferred.
Aptitude for multi-task environment; multi-function work ethic
