Meet the new Chairman of our Board of Directors

We are thrilled to announce that Bartlett J. McCartin III, or Bart for short, has been selected and unanimously approved as the next Chairman of our Board of Directors, effective as of July 1st. Bart and his wife Katie have been involved with Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago for over 11 years. Bart began as a volunteer at our Louis L. Valentine Club and later served as a member of the Valentine Club’s Board of Managers and as Vice Chair of our Board of Directors.

"For me personally, I love this organization. I really and truly with all my heart love this organization," Bart said recently. "I’m fortunate to have become great friends with the people who make this organization run every day – our club staff at all of our different clubs, and the team that manages and supports them. They are the best of the best."

In addition to his time with BGCC, Bart brings a diverse personal, professional and educational background that most certainly serve him well as Chairman. Bart attended Pepperdine University with a degree in Business Administration and Public Relations. Since 2009, he has served as Principal and Managing Partner of National Investment Services Inc., a $6B Institutional Investment Management Firm with offices in Chicago, Milwaukee and Sarasota. Earlier in his career, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of The McCartin Group/McCartin Industrial Services Group, where he led the 96 year old, third generation Industrial Construction and Engineering companies. Bart is a 25-year, third generation member of UA Local 597 in Chicago, and has served as a reserve member of the Fire Department for the last 22 years.

"We have the single greatest organization in the City of Chicago, or anywhere as far as I am concerned, as it relates to being able to serve our kids - the kids who need us the most given the violence and the horrific things happening in our city and our society right now. We truly have the opportunity to make a difference in these kids' lives."

Bart’s charitable work extends beyond Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities, as well as a trustee at St. Ignatius College Prep. Bart brings a passion and enthusiasm for our city and our youth that will serve him well in his new position. He has already created a series of ambitious new goals for our Board of Directors for the coming two years, and we are confident that, under his leadership, those goals will be met. We at BGCC are all excited to see where both our Board of Directors and the organization will go under Bart’s leadership.
