Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Celebrates $50,000 Renovation from Lowe’s with the Re-Launch of the Club’s Teen Center
The Louis L. Valentine Boys & Girls Club is hosting a grand re-opening event where guests will get a first look of the facility’s newly refurbished Teen Center. The updated Teen Center features everything from new lighting, furniture and flooring to technology upgrades including a TV, computer stations, projector, game console, Blu Ray player, arcade game and all updated teen-centric décor.

In the event of a strike by the CPS Teachers Union, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago will operate according to the following locations and schedules. Children must be Club members to participate, but many Clubs will be accepting new members. Please note, some Clubs will use alternate locations during this time. Please contact the Clubs directly with specific questions related to programming, hours or memberships.

When is enough enough? A message from BGCC President Mimi LeClair
It’s been less than two weeks since Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago employee Darnell Hardeman had his life cut tragically short due to yet another act of senseless violence in the City of Chicago. And while the pain of his absence may slowly subside, the anger we feel over losing one of our own to gun violence is still very much present in our hearts and our minds.

This May, our Woman's Board hosted their 2016 Summer Ball (Dream BIG) at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. The evening was a celebration all of our Club members, both past and present, and their dreams to reach their full potential and do amazing things.

Chicago youth are polishing their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills, through a partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago and Exelon Corporation. To celebrate the partnership, the James R. Jordan Boys & Girls Club is hosting a STEM expo, where 50 youth from the Jordan and Little Village Clubs will be guided by volunteers and a team of “ComEd Ignitors” in fun science experiments.​

Mimi joins BGCC after a 24-year career at the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago, where she recently served as Vice President of Advancement. Her passion and enthusiasm for providing resources to youth in Chicago will help further BGCC's impact and outreach across the city.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago will use the $40,000 Tyson Foods grant to enhance existing programming and target three Clubs in high-need communities: East Garfield Park (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Club), Near West Side (James Jordan Club), and Washington Heights/West Pullman (Morgan Park Club). All three clubs serve residents who live in food deserts in communities with a high incidence of obesity. ​

Looking for a way to share the holiday spirit and put a smile on the faces of young people? The Holiday Toy Drive is a great way for individuals, companies, social groups, church groups and others to donate NEW UNWRAPPED gifts for boys and girls, age 6 to 18. As a general guideline, we ask that items have a minimum value of $10. All items must be delivered by December 10.
 
Coca-Cola Partners with BGCC to Raise Money for CLUBS

Coca-Cola has generously committed to helping Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago raise $350,000 through text and social media fundraising from November 2010 through December 31, 2011. The partnership will include publicity to support a text-giving campaign in which donors pledge to support Boys & Girls Clubs by texting “CLUBS” to 50555 to make a $10 donation to BGCC.

Comcast was honored at the 2nd Annual Chicago Leadership Dinner hosted by the Corporate Board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC). The company was recognized for its tremendous support for BGCC’s most in-need Clubs within the past year. In addition, Comcast recently announced it will support three additional sites within a three-year $150,000 grant. The dinner, which took place October 13 at the Peninsula Hotel, was attended by more than 160 guests and raised $92,000 for BGCC.

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose recently hosted a Meet & Greet benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC). The event, sponsored by Powerade, was hosted at the Adidas Store in Water Tower Place, Chicago and drew 120 guests who participated in a Q&A with Rose, played games and socialized.
