“Dett’s
Parents Patrol” was established to ensure building safety
during the Boys & Girls Club program hours. School administrative
staff would not allow any programming until they could be assured
that the security of the building would be maintained after-school.
As a result 8 parents decided to take ownership of their community
by volunteering to provide security and assist the Club program
staff. Now that the after-school programs are underway and off
to a successful start, the “Parents Patrol” has been
ensuring that the hallways are kept quiet and that members are
able to be quickly located for pick-up during Club hours.
