Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Endorses Allstate Diversity Initiative

During the past year, Boys & Girls Clubs of America joined forces with Allstate Insurance Company and the Allstate Foundation to unveil a major diversity partnership within the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement. This initiative, Youth for Unity, is not only positively impacting Club youth, staff and volunteers - it's sure to have a lasting impact in the communities where Boys & Girls Clubs and Allstate make a difference. Allstate and The Allstate Foundation have been making a difference in Chicago through Boys & Girls Clubs for over 50 years.

This powerful diversity initiative continues our longstanding relationship with Allstate and underscores our mutual commitment to fostering diversity. We know that diversity sensitivity is key to attracting and retaining qualified professional staff. Diversity in Club programs helps bridge gaps of understanding among our youth, and board diversity enhances access to resources. Through Allstate's generosity and involvement, we have the opportunity to strengthen our diversity practices across all fronts.

On November 30, 2005, the Corporate Board of Directors of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago unanimously endorsed the Allstate diversity initiative and commends The Allstate Foundation and Allstate Insurance Company for its continued leadership as an outstanding corporate citizen in our city.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Diversity Committee has been working to facilitate a better understanding of diversity within our Movement. With the help of our partners at Allstate, we have created a comprehensive strategy aimed at challenging all Clubs to promote inclusive environments for members, staff and boards of directors.

This is to certify that the board of directors for the

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF CHICAGO
Chicago, IL

has accepted the challenge of promoting diversity within the Boys & Girls Club Movement.
With this pledge, the board acknowledges its critical role and will provide leadership in making
the Club an inclusive environment that values and embraces the highest ideals of diversity.

The board of directors formally resolved this acceptance.
