Founded in 2005, the Guild Board’s mission is to support the work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) by raising money and awareness about the important role the Clubs play in kids’ lives throughout the City. The Guild Board is a group of approximately fifty accomplished professionals in their 30's and early 40's who are leaders not only in business, but also in community and civic affairs. Our Members are elected to the Guild based on an evaluation of their professional success and their ability to contribute to our mission through fundraising and other efforts that create support and awareness for BGCC.
To date, the Guild Board has raised over $750,000.00 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. The demographics of Guild Board has attracted support in the past from corporations and firms such as Katten Muchin Rosenman, L.L.P., Schwarz Paper Company, William Blair & Company, JP Morgan Chase, and luxury retailers such as Ralph Lauren, Tiffany& Co., Salvatore Ferragamo, Tod’s, and Neiman Marcus.
- Golden Ring Gala
Where members develop and execute an annual Youth of the Year recognition and fundraising event: The Golden Ring Gala. The Golden Ring Gala will showcase each of the BGCC's five core programs (Character and Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation); with one award going to a child that best embodies the values of each program. - Golden Ring Award is the award program that accompanies the Golden Ring Gala
- Volunteering
Guild members develop new volunteer, recognition and development programs. Organize and execute an annual "June Jubilee", which is a BGCC family cultivation event (a free "picnic" event for Club members, their families, BGCC staff and all Board members to close out the year with a casual, social event featuring BBQ and games). - Education
The Guild members make sure that an education component for the organization is delivered at Board meetings and through other means during the year to heighten awareness and understanding of BGCC and its accomplishments.
